Executive Committee
Chairwoman of Publicity
Leslie Boone
Sis. Leslie Boone is a Member of the Schrader Lane Church of Christ. She serves on the health ministry, Schrader Care, the mission team, and the Historical/Archives Committee.
Ms. Boone is the president of her neighborhood association and works to preserve the African American history of east Nashville (specifically District 5). She was instrumental in working with Middle Tennessee State University to produce a driving tour of community identified historical “memorial stones” called Places Spaces & Voices: Northeast Nashville Community History Project. A community dialogue was later funded by the Humanities Tennessee in partnership with the Nashville Public Library to generate a dialogue that raises the public’s awareness of the threat of physical and cultural erasure of African American history. In addition to her preservation work, she is actively engaged with Chick History, a story core created to preserve the history of women’s suffrage and illuminate the role of African American women in the suffrage narrative.
In her day job, Leslie is a Research Services Consultant with the Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (VICTR). She also provides consultancy support to research studies by tailoring recruitment and retention advice and services to study teams. She is a proud graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana and Emory University.
Her favorite hymn is “O I Want to See Him”. She is looking forward to making a joyful noise!
